Join us online for our FREE Information Session to learn more about the Macquarie University program – Music is for the brain, not the ears!

This Information Session will explore how music can be used to support teenagers who are deaf and hard-of-hearing, and the role that family, teachers, clinicians (and beyond) play.

Hear For You have partnered with auditory scientist and award-winning educator, Dr Chi Yhun Lo from Macquarie University. Chi is a former audio engineer that has worked with a diverse range of artists such as Missy Higgins, The Silver Apples, and iconic Australian children’s band The Hooley Dooleys.

This first-hand experience led to a PhD that explored the “benefits of music training for children with hearing loss”, and his expertise has contributed to music-based projects by Cochlear Ltd. Chi is focussed on community engagement, ensuring research expertise is effectively applied and shared. He is a committee member (and former Vice-President) of the Parents of Deaf Children, and the founder of a Science Camp for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children.
