Ever wanted to make your own short film? Or wondered what life’s like behind the scenes in TV studios? Well, through Rock My World workshops, you might just get the chance to find out. These workshops are run as one-off sessions, and each has a specific theme. As well as giving you the chance to try something new, you’ll also meet a bunch of other people (both teenagers and mentors) who are into the same stuff as you. Never hurts to have allies, right?
Program duration: One or two full days
Location: Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane (all in central locations)
NDIS hours: 4 to 16
Perfect for: High school students who are deaf or hard of hearing with oral communication

How it works: Each Rock My World workshop focuses on a specific activity, giving you the chance to do, create or accomplish something you wouldn’t normally get to do. The session will also involve a guest presentation, and mentoring opportunities. Upcoming workshops include:

Cost: NDIS funded amount – $176.76 (3 hours) to $824.88 (14 hours) – depending on type of RMW
Non-NDIS funded – $50 to secure place then HFY will work to secure funding to cover cost for teenager to attend.
Actual costs to host the workshop between $280-$900 each teenager.

- Some Rock My World workshops allow you to bring your hearing friend or sibling too, giving you a great chance to do something fun together.
- All materials are provided – all you need to bring is yourself and a smile.
