Program information:

This is the last Rock My World Workshop for 2017.

But this is a really special Rock My World workshop…..

It’s so special that it encompasses TWO full days in the July school holidays.

It’s so special that it required booking an independent cinema for this.

It’s so special that it literally involves a red carpet.

Any idea what it is? No, I don’t think you realise just how special it is…..

This is a Filming Workshop, where you have the opportunity to work with our very own filmmaker, screenwriter, director and producer extraordinaire Pauline Findlay in creating your own 5 minute film about deafness.

That very same film will be automatically entered into the inaugural Hear For You Film Competition and judged in 3 categories of Best Director, Best Story and Best Movie!

That’s not all though….

All films will be shown on the big screen at the Golden Age Cinemas in Surry Hills on Thursday 24th August in our very own private RED CARPET PREMIERE!

Are you the next Steven Spielberg, George Lucas or Sofia Coppola???

Only one way to find out. And that’s to enrol now!!

Please read the below information on what to bring:

  • Mobile phone/iPad
  • Draft storyline of your film
  • Any props you need for your film

Dates of sessions:

Session 1: Sunday 27th August

Session 2: Sunday 24th September

Session 3: Sunday 22nd October

Session 4: Sunday 26th November

NDIS hours required – 30

Program information:

This is our legendary flagship mentoring program! It takes place over four Sundays over four months.

Our sessions bring together groups of teenagers to realise that deafness is more of a “difference” than a disadvantage.

We show you that they are not alone, to inspire them, and to share hints and tips on how to deal with all the obstacles that come with deafness.

We want to give you the opportunity to share your experiences with someone in the same boat, particularly when it feels like no one else understands.

We help you think about your life goals and work with you to plan achievable steps to move you closer to your dreams. With all the life experiences that our mentors have, they are well-placed to help you achieve your goals too!

We are here to help you get the best out of being deaf, to realise their dreams and live life to the full and that’s why we’re Hear For You!

FAQs

Can I attend just one session ?

No – this program is designed to take place over 4 sessions so the mentor-mentee relationship has a chance to grow organically over time. In addition, the themes of each session provide an important bridge over to the next one so we are able to cover a wide range of topics.
